Pain in middle age women can be hormonal.
Ovarian function declines rapidly in middle-aged women (late 40s to early 50s), and estrogen (female hormone) levels drop dramatically, making them prone to various disorders.

When you are in pain, you may first go to an orthopedic surgeon, but the pain may actually be caused by hormones, even though the tests are normal.
At our clinic, female doctors provide pain treatment for middle-aged women. We treat symptoms such as stiff shoulders, back pain, stiff fingers, and so on, It can't be helped because I'm old" or "It can't be helped because I'm menopausal. It can't be helped because I'm menopausal. We hope that you will visit our clinic without putting up with such symptoms as "it's just my age" or "it's just menopause".
What is Nerve Block Therapy?
A local anesthetic is injected into the nerve causing the pain and its surrounding area to relieve the pain. The pain may be relieved after a single injection, but it usually decreases gradually with repeated injections.
*Anesthesiology (Pain Clinic) is available only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Pain and numbness in the upper body
cervical spondylosis
| summary | Pain and numbness occur mainly due to inflammation and hypersensitivity of the cervical spine, surrounding tissues, and nerves caused by age-related changes. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Pain and numbness in the neck, shoulders, upper extremities, etc. |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: nonsteroidal analgesics, muscle relaxants, antidepressants Nerve block therapy: stellate ganglion block, epidural block, trigger point injection |
cervical spondylotic radiculopathy
| summary | The nerve (nerve root) at the transition from the spinal cord to the peripheral nerves is compressed by the abnormally formed bone, causing pain, numbness, and sensory loss. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Pain, numbness, and decreased sensation from the neck to the upper extremities. Symptoms are worse when the neck is bent or tilted. |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: nonsteroidal analgesics, muscle relaxants, antidepressants Nerve block therapy: stellate ganglion block, epidural block, trigger point injection |
cervical disc herniation
| summary | This is a disease in which part of the cushion-like "intervertebral disc" between the cervical vertebrae pops out and compresses the nerves. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Neck pain and pain or numbness in the upper extremities |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: nonsteroidal analgesics, muscle relaxants, antidepressants Nerve block therapy: stellate ganglion block, epidural block, trigger point injection |
Cervical intervertebral arthritis (sprained cervical vertebrae in sleep)
| summary | Pain is caused by mechanical irritation or chronic inflammation of the joints connecting the cervical vertebrae. There are two types of pain: acute pain caused by sleep disorders and chronic pain caused by inflammation around the joints. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Neck pain, limited mobility |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: nonsteroidal analgesics, muscle relaxants, antidepressants Nerve block therapy: stellate ganglion block, trigger point injection, fluoroscopic intervertebral joint block |
Periarthritis of the shoulder (frozen shoulder)
| summary | Inflammation of the tissues surrounding the shoulder joint causes shoulder pain and limited mobility. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Shoulder pain, inability to raise arm |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: Non-steroidal analgesics Injection therapy: hyaluronic acid, local anesthesia Nerve block therapy: Suprascapular nerve block, stellate nerve block, trigger point injection |
intercostal neuralgia
| summary | The area of the intercostal nerve (the nerve that runs along the ribs) is painful. There may be a cause, such as a rib fracture, herniated disc, or shingles, or there may be no apparent cause. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Pain in the back, flanks, front of the chest or navel area. It occurs only on the right or left side of the upper body, rarely on both sides. |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: Non-steroidal analgesics Nerve block therapy: intercostal nerve block |
compression fracture
| summary | Osteoporosis and tumors can cause vertebrae to become brittle, resulting in fractures. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Back pain in the lumbar region |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: Non-steroidal analgesics Nerve block therapy: trigger point injection, epidural anesthesia, fluoroscopic nerve block |
Pain and numbness in the lower body
Acute low back pain (hiccups)
| summary | Sudden onset of back pain, such as when lifting heavy objects or twisting the lower back, can make it impossible to move. The cause can vary from a muscle sprain to inflammation. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Sudden back pain, unable to move |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: nonsteroidal analgesics, muscle relaxants, anxiolytics Trigger point injection, epidural block |
chronic lower back pain
| summary | A condition in which low back pain persists for more than 6 months is called chronic low back pain. There are various causes, including herniated discs, osteoarthritis, and osteoporosis. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Sudden back pain, unable to move |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: nonsteroidal analgesics, muscle relaxants, anxiolytics, antidepressants Trigger point injection, epidural block |
lumbar disk herniation
| summary | It is a disease in which a part of the cushion-like "intervertebral disc" between the lumbar vertebrae protrudes and compresses the nerves. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Back pain, numbness and pain in lower limbs |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: nonsteroidal analgesics, muscle relaxants, anxiolytics Epidural block, fluoroscopic nerve block |
Lumbar spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis
| summary | Lumbar spondylolysis is a disease in which the bones that form the lumbar spine joint separate. The separated lumbar vertebrae shift forward in spondylolisthesis. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Low back pain and pain in the buttocks and lower extremities |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: nonsteroidal analgesics, muscle relaxants, anxiolytics Epidural block, sacral epidural block, fluoroscopic nerve root block, intervertebral joint block |
spinal canal stenosis
| summary | The spinal canal, through which the spinal cord passes, is narrowed and the nerves are compressed, causing numbness, pain, and sensory disturbance in the lower back and lower limbs. Intermittent claudication, a condition that causes pain and numbness in the legs and feet when walking but allows the patient to walk again after a short rest, is seen. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Numbness and pain in lower back and lower extremities, intermittent claudication |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: nonsteroidal analgesics, muscle relaxants, anxiolytics, vasodilators Epidural block, sacral epidural block, fluoroscopic nerve root block, intervertebral joint block |
spondyloarthritis ossificans
| summary | Aging changes cause narrowing of the space between the lumbar vertebrae and abnormal bone formation, resulting in pain in the tissues surrounding the lumbar vertebrae. |
|---|---|
| symptoms | Back pain, etc. |
| medical treatment | Oral therapy: nonsteroidal analgesics, muscle relaxants, anxiolytics, vasodilators Epidural block, sacral epidural block, fluoroscopic nerve root block, intervertebral joint block |
